Welcome Vauna Beta Testers

First off, thank you for helping me make this project a reality so far.  I couldn’t have gotten this far without the help of friends.  Other eyes and brains looking over my creation has only made it better and a more enjoyable experience.  Both for me watching it come into existence, and for the players who benefit from the cool ideas you have recommended.

My goal is for this website, Vauna.xyz, to be both a way to explain what Vauna is to new people AND to let me introduce new ideas to the players while giving them a central location for news and the scheduling of game sessions.

MY FIRST REQUESTPlease look over the site and see if you can find any bugs or errors or typos or anything that stands out to be fixed before I push it out to more people.  Or are there features, pictures, fonts that don’t work and need to be toned down?  I think I have found all the issues with my work, but like with the LAIR itself, sometimes my brain misses things.

MY SECOND REQUESTWhat should I add to the site?  I tried to go for the basics to start with: landing page, explanation of what it is with videos, scheduling, membership area and a running log of changes and additions.  As people who have either played it already, or are curious to try it, what else should I add to the site to help people out?  I can’t guarantee that all requests can be implemented (as I need both the free time to work on it, AND the ability to teach myself how to program it), but I am happy to explore what is offered up.

MY THIRD REQUEST – If you are interested in playing again and trying out the new features (see below), then schedule a game and I will get it set up.  I am currently looking at scheduling through October (fall break) and November before taking a break to update and implement new changes.  I miss running games and interacting with people.  Building new maps and monsters and the website have been interesting, but it isn’t why I started this in the first place.  I want to get back to running games and having fun!

CHANGES MOVING FORWARD – I need to see if I can create/maintain a viable method to make money from this if it is going to be a possible future business.  In order to do that, I have come up with a plan that I am willing to revisit as feedback comes in.
>>The ORIGINAL DUNGEON map will always be free to play.  This is the map you have played already and are used to.  Any group can sign up and play that map and it is free.  You can also choose ANY GAME TYPE on it for free (Treasure run, Boss Hunt, Bounty Hunt or Slay Ride).  You can continue to level up characters, earn/keep treasures and experience new monsters as I upgrade them.  I want there to be a “free option” for people who want to try it (even new clients) without having to commit money.  My goal is to keep this option open for as long as I can.
>>CHANGES AND PAID UPGRADES – I have invested money in new artwork for new maps and monsters and committed an obscene amount of time building a new map, The HAUNTED HOUSE.  I am also working on another map, DERELICT SPACESHIP, that I hope to release in a month or so.  Playing on any new map going forward will incur a $10 per person per night charge to help me offset those costs and see if people are interested in paying for upgraded graphics and environments.  So a group of 3 people would be $30 for the night, and a group of 6 would be $60, etc.
>>I am also working a new loot system that will allow players to find UNIQUE WEAPONS and ARMOR and TRINKETS that can be found in new upgraded treasure chests.  An early example would be the WHALE TOED BOOTS that give a bonus when attempting to kick open a locked door.  Or the WAND of DRAGON SNORTS that gives three casts of a giant fire ball before it breaks.  Players can then find and collect the unique loot that can be brought into future map runs.  These new unique item treasure chests will only be available with the upgraded version of the game.
>>If you can think of other services or ideas to be implemented with the upgrade then please let me know and I can look into it.  I am hoping these options will start making the upgraded option more appealing to players moving forward.

FINAL THOUGHTS – I am wanting to set up a forum on here for members to suggest ideas and have conversations so I can learn and implement new ideas and concepts more quickly.  If you get a chance to check it out, then I would appreciate it, also.

Thank you so much for all your help so far.  I can’t wait to see how this next round of testing makes it all even better than before!
