Vauna FAQ Page

What is Vauna?
Vauna is a social gaming experience that combines an escape room with video games and roleplaying games.  Can your group of friends survive in a haunted house for an hour?  Or find the exit of an exploding spaceship? Or battle a dragon in a dungeon maze and come out on top?

Do I have to know video games to play?
No knowledge of video games are needed to play at Vauna.  Players will get to do “skill checks” for their in-game characters using games built into an ipad, but the games do not require any prior knowledge or practice in order to be successful.

I know nothing about roleplaying games.  Is that important?
A background with roleplaying games may be beneficial to players (Dungeons & Dragons, World of Warcraft, etc.), but a lack of experience is not an issue.  Everything needed to play can be picked up and learned quickly within the first few minutes .

How long does a game last?
Games are scheduled in two hour blocks, to allow for a half hour of prep before the hour long game, and then a half hour afterwards for discussion and recaps.  Maps are designed to be played in about an hour.

How many people are needed to play?
The game works best with at least three players in the party to keep the experience fun and not too overwhelming.
Due to the size limitations of the room, it is best to not go larger than seven to eight people to allow for all players to have a chance to interact and be a part of the fun.

What age players can participate at Vauna?
Vauna has currently been tested with players between the ages of 10 and 80 with success.  Any age player that can listen to a story and play on an iPad should have no issue with being in a vauna party.

How much does it cost to play?
The current pricing is free while it is in early beta testing.  Eventually, a pricing plan will be implemented on either a per person or per group basis, but that has not happened yet.

I have a question that wasn’t answered here.  What should I do?
Please email it to Broviak@Vauna.xyz, and it will be answered and possibly added to the FAQ!
